About SEKH
The Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency for Central Africa (CEREEAC) is dedicated to accelerating the energy and climate transition in the Economic Community of Central Africa States (ECCAS) region, which includes eleven member states: Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Rwanda, and São Tomé and Príncipe.
To support this mission, CEREEAC launched the Sustainable Energy Knowledge Hub (SEKH), a geospatial web platform designed to disseminate, locate, and visualize data crucial for the region's energy transition.
Our Objective
SEKH aims to provide reliable, relevant, and easy-to-understand data on a user-friendly platform. In a region where data is often missing or unreliable, SEKH promotes thorough data collection and harmonizes measurement methodologies across the ECCAS countries. Supported by the European Union and UNIDO, SEKH fosters the creation of an integrated and cohesive electricity market, facilitating the transition to diversified and renewable energy sources.
Data Sources
SEKH automatically fetches data from various sources, including CEREEAC, ECCAS member countries, and external platforms like the World Bank, African Union, and IEA. Each data point and visualization clearly indicates its source.
Interactive Navigation
SEKH offers an interactive experience, with content evolving based on user choices. On the left side, detailed data visualizations provide insights into specific indicators, while a geospatial map on the right offers precise information by power plant. Users can access country dashboards, indicator pages, select the year of reference, apply filters, and more, allowing them to explore and understand Central Africa's energy transition.
